About Marius Fabre

In 1900, Marius Fabre created his soap factory in Salon-de-Provence, France.

Salon de-Provence is renowned for its famous Marseille soap - produced in cauldrons and only based with vegetable oils. Genuine Marseille soap is 100% natural, made only from vegetable oils (especially olive oil) with neither colouring nor synthetic additives. It must contain 72% of oil, which is stamped on each cube of soap.

For over a hundred years, the soap was tested in the cauldrons to check it was perfect. If the paste stung the tongue, it meant the soap needed another rinse in pure water. Who today still has such know-how?

Since 1900, Marius Fabre products have all been produced according to the same philosophy:

based on vegetable oils
without the use of animal fats
no artificial colourings or parabens
not tested on animals
biodegradable, respecting the environment
recyclable packaging
• palm oil free
